Cancer and Genetics

Cancer & Genetics

One in four deaths in the U.S. is due to cancer.  One out of two men and one out of three women will have cancer in their lifetime.  Diagnosing cancer early and prescribing an effective treatment plan is often the difference between life and death.  With the assistance of a $5 million gift from the State Employee's Credit Union, in 2011 Mission Health was able to aggregate a variety of diagnostic, treatment and support services under one roof at the SECU Cancer Center.  As a result of the $15 million in total philanthropic support, Mission now serves over 200 patients daily an easy-access, state-of-the-art, outpatient healing environment.  With additional philanthropic support, we have the opportunity to provide advanced treatment options and additional support to nearly 3,000 new patients and families dealing with cancer.
